TF42-1.7B uit de serie Thermische beveiliging is een economische thermische overstroomrelais voor hoofdkringen, ontworpen voor betrouwbare motorbeveiliging bij overbelasting en fase-uitval. Met tripklasse 10 en een instelbereik van 1,30–1,70 A schakelt het tijdig af, waardoor stilstand en schade worden voorkomen. De railversie voldoet aan eisen voor rollend materieel en kan veilig in passagiers- of bestuurderscabines worden toegepast, ook bij frequente tunnel- of metrodienst.De driepolige bimetalconstructie reageert nauwkeurig op stroom en temperatuur. Handmatig of automatisch resetten is selecteerbaar, met TEST- en STOP-functie en duidelijke uitschakelindicatie aan de voorzijde. Faseverliesgevoelig volgens IEC/EN 60947-4-1 en temperatuurgecompenseerd, geschikt voor drie- en eenfasige toepassingen. Ontworpen conform IEC 60077, schok- en trillingsbestendig volgens IEC 61373 (cat. 1, class B) en toepasbaar volgens EN 45545-2.
