Deze Blacklight Blue lampen zenden ultraviolette straling met lange golf (UV-A) uit en weinig zichtbaar licht. De UV-straling ligt tussen de 315nm en 400nm en heeft sterke fotochemische en fluorescerende effecten. Een donkerblauwe filtercoating op de buis filtert het meeste zichtbare licht uit. Typische applicaties: verlichtingseffecten in theaters en nachtclubs, gelddetectie, testen, inspectie en onderzoeken op verschillende gebieden.
